Replaced long sections of Govee smart string lights with these!
I started putting Govee string lights along my backyard perimeter fence. I like Govee products for their color scenes and easy integration with Alexa and home assistant. However, the Govee lights didn’t put out a lot of light, which I needed when I took my dog out back so I could a) see where he drops his “biscuits”, and b) make sure there are no critters hiding (there are occasionally bunnies in my yard, and a gopher that pops out occasionally, and rarely a cat walking through) that might want to fight my cute pup, who won’t do well in a good ole fashioned street brawl.The other problem with the Govee is their limited length, since there’s a controller for the color LEDs, and I had planned to do half of the fence from one outlet and half from another.I decided to swap all that out for about 300 feet of these Magictec LED string lights. They’re not smart lights, but a simple outdoor weatherproof smart outlet adapter worked perfectly for plugging it in (and Alexa/home assistant integration). I can also string MANY of these from one outlet with no issue. So, I put the entire string up along my fence with a few feet to spare and the light output is great – pictures don’t do it justice. Sure, I don’t have color support, but I really don’t need it for the perimeter fence – I can re-use the Govee color lights in my outdoor patio to create a nice mood.The other thing that’s great is these are easy to connect together – one end has a female plug with a weather-resistant cap, and both male and female sides have rubber gaskets to keep water out, for a very nice, tight, secure, and safe fit.The string lights have hooks along them every so often, so it makes it super easy to hang them. There’s also a hook on the very ends of each section. I was going to make the line a little tighter, but I kind of like some sections a little lower and some a little higher (depending on what they’re near or behind).Overall, great product at a great price!

These are wonderful! The bulbs are LED, which means they do not get hot. They are shatterproof, which means they can go in my trees. I waited a long time for something like these to come out. I never trusted putting the old kind in trees, because they get really hot and could shatter easily when the wind blows and they hit a branch. I have a set of the old ones across my back yard and one or two inevitably shatter from a ball or a shovel held too high when walking under them. It’s not a big deal to replace a bulb, unless it’s one close to the roof. I also have dogs, so shards of glass in the grass is not ideal. I will probably order another set of these to replace the old one. The bulbs are a bright white and I got 2 replacement bulbs with my order. The cords are heavy duty. I like that the ends are basically sealed when connected. My only pet peeve is that, when the 2 lines are connected, I have to rig it to make the bulbs an equal distance apart. It’s very minor and it won’t be visible in the trees, so I don’t mind for this application. However, if I order them for the backyard, where everything would be clearly visible, it might bother me. If you’re a stickler, it might bother you to either have a slightly off gap between the lights or a small loop to correct the problem. It does not take away from the 5 star review. It’s just something that most of these type of light strands could improve upon. Durability is not something I can give an opinion on, as I just received them, but they look very sturdy. I will update my review, if there is an issue. I would definitely buy these again…I just wish I had more places to put them!

Almost 2 years now; have worked well
This package shipped with two extra bulbs, and today, at 23 months, I noticed that two of the bulbs needed to be replaced. I put the extras in, and they worked fine. Seem to be pretty weatherproof. Quality is good. Nice amount of brightness.Two things to notice: 1) The bulb sockets are fairly far apart, so I ended up doubling back and placing the second set such that each of its bulbs was right between the bulbs of the first set. This made for good spacing, but of course you cover much less distance this way (well, half the distance you may have been counting on). 2) The bulbs are described as being the warm color tone of 2700K, which is what we like. I can not say as an absolute fact, but these seem to be a much whiter color than that (perhaps 3500K or 5000K?).. We have other lights up, and these donât quite go with them, as the others seem a warmer yellow-ish tone.

These just arrived today and we ran them around the perimeter of our backyard. Was like a kid at Christmas waiting for dark to turn them on.
