Seed Needs has been providing gardeners with quality seed products since 2010 and has shipped millions of packets to happy customers all over the US. We offer flowers, herbs, vegetables, vines, wildflower blends, seed packet collections and seed packet favors.
With the success of our brand, we have kept our promise to continually donate to different organizations and personally sponsor children all over the globe each and every month. We grew our sponsorships from just 1 child to over 100 children worldwide in only a few years. We would like to sincerely thank all who support us because it wouldn’t be possible without you!

Flowers will attract all sorts of beneficial insects to the garden, such as butterflies, bumblebees, honeybees and ladybugs.

Heirlooms are varieties that have been purposely bred, selected and passed down from generation to generation. They are wholesome picks that will breed true to the parent seed every time.

We do not treat any of our seed products with substances such as neonicotinoid or thyram.

Always fresh and intended for the current and following growing seasons. Seeds are packaged in water resistant / tear resistant packaging.

Sunflowers are a staple of the Summer months and are also very popular as well. We have put together an assortment that contains 6 of our most popular varieties of Sunflowers, just for all of the Sunflower lovers out there! Included are branching varieties, as well as single stemmed varieties.
Sunflowers are easily grown from freshly harvested Helianthus annuus seeds. The plants grow to a collective height of over 5 feet tall and will produce many shades of red, orange and yellow. Each plant displays medium to large sized heads, accented with dozens of large, spade shaped leaves. Sunflowers are known to attract all sorts of beneficial insects to the garden, such as butterflies, bumblebees, honeybees and even hummingbirds as well.
Helianthus annuus is categorized as an annual flowering plant, meaning that the plants will grow quickly from freshly harvested seeds. The plants then bloom for a short period of time, to later die with the first frost. If the sunflower heads are allowed to dry out, you can collect the seeds for resowing the following year. Just be sure to watch out for birds and squirrels, as they will be after the seeds as well!

I’m excited!
I’m really looking forward to the whole process of their growth. The seeds are loosely packed and not clumped together. That’s a really good sign they will hold up well.
A. Morris –
I would start them inside
I plant sunflowers every year in the summer here in Michigan. In the past I start my seeds in starter trays and itâs a little annoying untangling them to replant outside. The package of these said to put them outside- I thought it would be perfect because life has been busy this year.Out of 500 seeds (started 4 months ago), I think around 100 sprouted. Not a huge deal, I knew Iâd lose some to the birds, germination rates, and random circumstance.None of my mammoth ones have sprouted.None of the teddy bear (fuzzy ones without a defined middle)Iâm getting a lot of orange and light yellow.I might buy the pack of 500 again next year and start them inside.
