    Good Cantilever Patio Umbrella
This hanging umbrella seems like good quality. It looks complicated when it arrives but it is really easy to put together. The umbrella parts just snap together and then you assemble the two legs and base with four provided bolts and washers (even a little wrench is included). Step 1 in the manual is wrong. Part B sits onto part A not A onto B as in the manual picture. It is pretty easy to figure out. Took one star off because the ad pictures show it sitting upright without weights on the base and that is not possible. Surprised at how many of these cantilever patio umbrellas for sale don’t come with weights. I will be using it in the yard so I will just be staking down the legs. There is a hole in the end of the legs but nothing in the manual or ad says what they are for. Will probably put the stakes a little farther from the edge than the predrilled holes are and drilling a larger hole (about 1/2 inch instead of the 1/4 inch provided hole). Really like how you can disassemble the base quickly then everything lays flat for storage.

Great umbrella for the price (does not come with weights!)
The biggest deciding factor for this umbrella is the price by far. You have to supply your own weights, but even after you buy those plus the umbrella, the cost still comes out to be really affordable compared to other offset umbrellas. It’s really easy to set up and is so nice if you have an outdoor seating area. It provides plenty of shade despite the thin fabric (again, price). I have a regular patio umbrella and it simply doesn’t provide the coverage required for our sectional because it only covers a small portion of the couch. This new one has made sitting out there really pleasant, even when the sun is high overhead and the rest of the patio is baking.I bought weights that I filled with water and places them on three sides (the fourth is blocked by the couch). Seems to be holding up just fine.My only concern is how long the open/close mechanism will last, because the ropes seem flimsier than the other umbrella I have (which has lasted 15 years and counting). But unless it breaks in the next five years, I’ll count it lasting that long as a solid win.

Big Umbrella, Provides Good Shade When Positioned Correctly
This is a decent budget level cantilever umbrella, it is big and will provide you with good shade providing you position it correctly. It does better if it is placed in a fairly protected area, in the wind it will move and swing alot. It has no tie down or tie back ability unfortunately. It is neatly made, the fabric top provides some protection when it rains. The arm is made of metal but the joints are plastic so not sure how well it will hold up after a long hot summer. The umbrella comes with a large set of metal cross brace feet that take only a few minutes to assemble. This cross brace does provide a good secure base if you screw it to the deck.As you can see in the attached photos, the umbrella looks good. This spot where I have placed it can be fairly windy, so far I have not had any trouble with placing this umbrella here. But it does swing around a lot when the wind picks up. The umbrella is not very heavy, one person can handle it. The umbrella frame work is OK, it is budget, so as long as you are not expecting to much you will be OK with it. For the price point it does the job well enough.

    Meh…topsy turvy
Meh. I really wanted to love this and was so hopeful. We moved into this house last June and still need things for the patio. I was excited about this but it’s been kind of lackluster. It is so top heavy and awkward. The bottom frame doesn’t make an X like every one else’s seems to. Ours looks more like a “t” which required us to weigh down with sandbags. This thing wouldn’t stand up without them so I guess it’s a good thing we have them! Neither of us feel comfortable leaving this standing 24/7. We’ve decided only to have it up if it’s being used. It’s pretty disappointing especially considering the price. The logistics of this make zero sense which is a shame because the actual umbrella is nice.

    Great umbrella, just needs weights
This is a great value for a large umbrella that provides a ton of shade, just be prepared to mount it to a deck or hold the base down with weights. Conveniently we have some blocks left over from our recent garden wall build, so they do a great job of holding the umbrella in place. We have a clip-on misting system that we set up when we open the umbrella so the kids can use it to cool down when they’re playing in the back yard.

Nice but cannot stand on its own
First, once assembled, this looks and feels like a nice umbrella. Assembly is relatively easy although there is an error on the first step of the instructions and the unit I received was missing two of the four washers needed. I had some around, but they should have been there. This is also a fairly big umbrella, which is nice, but you’ll need to take the top pole off (easy) to get into a normal sized garage or shed. The coverage of shade is really good, and operation is relatively simple. The BIG problem with this umbrella is there is no way to get it to stand on its own without weights. None of the listing photos show weights with it in use and that is disappointing.Because of the missing parts and the weighting issue, I really would like to give this 3.5 stars but decided on 4 because, once anchored, it will be a nice product.

Nice umbrella – consider additional mounting option below!
This umbrella is wonderful and sturdy too. So far it’s held up in a mild 20mph or so wind and it works really well for being outside in light rain and providing shade. I’m not a huge fan of the base, but you can get pipe mounts to secure these to a deck rail, or what I did, which was to get a slightly larger metal pipe, drive it about a foot and a half into my yard, and slip the umbrella pole inside of it. That makes it perfect for my use case, protecting an outdoor loveseat and a small table for it =)
